Competitive Soccer

Traditionally teams from the TYSA have been limited to playing against other teams in the Coulee Region Soccer Association.  In an effort to promote a more competitive level of soccer, TYSA teams now have two options to participate in a more competitive level of soccer.

Central Wisconsin Soccer League (CWSL)

Boys and Girls, U10 to U18, can register and participate in the Central Wisconsin Soccer League (CWSL).  CWSL begins its games the last week or two of school and plays through July.  Initially the games are held on the weekends.  After school is out the games are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Teams that are in the CWSL include Eagle River, Marshfield, Rhinelander, Wis Rapids, Stevens Point and Waupaca.  Generally speaking, because of the distances to these locations, all home and away games for Tomah are played at a "Neutral Site," either Wis Rapids or Marshfield.

TYSA Rec teams can play in the TYSA/CRC season and then transition to the CWSL.

If you are interested in playing in the CWSL your team must be registered to play by February 1 of each year.  If you would like more information on forming a CWSL team contact Mark Nicholson.

Western Wisconsin Classic Soccer League (WWCSL)

WWCSL is a new league forming in the Western Wisconsin area to start play in the Spring of 2009.  This league has been formed by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association due to the demand in Western Wisconsin for a Classic Soccer League.  This is a true "competitive" soccer league. Initially this league will be for Boys U12 to U15 and Girls U12 to U14.  In the future this league will be expanded to include Boys and Girls U10+.  The WWCSL is designed for teams in the Midway, Southwest, and Northwest Districts.  This would include teams from as far south as Platteville, as far North as Superior, and as far east as Wausau.

It may be necessary to join age groups to field a competitive team.  It may also be necessary to make a team from combining to clubs.   It is important to remember that this is a competitive division of soccer.

If you are interested in forming a team for the WWCSL contact Mark Nicholson ASAP.
